WHO'S WHO HONORS ELEVEN SENIORS Senior Leaders Are Given Recognition ^/J/i/l d TOJbb—e/lA. Rev. Gudmestad Leads Spiritual Emphasis Week "That I May Know Him" was the theme upon which Rev. Lawrence Gudmestad of Minot, North Dakota centered his talks for Spiritual November 7-11. With such statements as "It is only by faith in Jesus that we stand before God with our sins forgiven," and "Your sin is in one of two places: with you, in which case you are lost, or with Christ, in which case you are saved," Rev. Gudmestad brought out the need for Christ in every life. Highlighting the week's activities were the services held at 7 o'clock each evening in the school Chapel, at which Rev. Gudmestad presented the following themes: "Sidetrack- ed," "Spiritual Sabotage," "Be- hold the Lamb of God," "This Is y. . — . A graduate of Minot High School, V. North Dakota, in '45, Andy is majoring in Business. Andy served last year ka President Dice Class. Sylvia Kleven is majoring in Secretarial Studies. Sylvia, a grad uate of Battle Lake High School in '45, is secretary ol the Choir and is Vice-chairman of the Board of Publications. Georgette Lanes is now President of the Augsburg Worn Society. Georgette is also a member of the Student Council. A '46 graduate of Montevideo High School, Georgette is majoring in English. Samuel Michaelson -will graduate with majors in Philosophy, German, and History. Sam graduated from Montevideo High School in '43. Well-known as ihc Chapel pianist, Sam also has been active in the German and Republican Clubs. Idelle Nornes is a graduate of Mcintosh High School, Class of '44. Idy is now Chairman of Augsburg's Social Activities. Majoring in English, she also is active in AWS and WAA. Harriet Skonnord, another repeater in WHO'S WHO, is majoring in Commercial Education. She is a graduate of College High School, Valley City, N. D. Seigel, renowned photographer and designer, spoke at convocation Wednesday, Nov. 16, on "Contemporary Trends in Photography." The first part of his two-day visit to Augsburg was spent speaking at convocation, talking to a special assembly of the Art, Drama and Journalism students in the Science Hall auditorium, and presenting an illustrated lecture in the evening. On Thursday in Chapel, Mr. Seigel met with the Sociology and Education students, and at 3 p. m. gave instructions on Photogram- metry. To illustrate his personal approach to photography, Mr. Seigel offered an exhibit of fifty photographs which supplemented his talk in convocation, and motion pictures were shown to depict their potentialities for communication of ideas. Born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1913, Mr. Seigel early developed a taste for photography and it remained his main interest throughout high school and college. After one year at the University of Michigan, he was obliged to leave school due to the economic depression and worked for 3 years as an advertising copy writer. He then entered Wayne University, graduating with his B. S. in Education. His famous one-man shows have been held in Detroit, Chicago, Toledo, Washington and New Orleans. Dogpatch Day Is Here Again! Gals Are Runnin* After Men! Dogpatch Days are here again!! Eagerly enthusiastic females and scared silly males are tonight looking forward to one of Auggie Tech's best-loved socials of the year. The problem is trying to figure out whether or not the boys are more fearful of being asked or of being overlooked. You've gotta admit that -with a ratio of four boys to each girl the fellows should feel pretty honored when they are asked. On the other hand, the gals should realize the fact that in their hands : making or breaking a fellow's heart. Tomorrow night, November 19, sighdy citizens from Dogpatch and Skunk Hollow clad in red shirts, suspender-supported pants, jagged skirts and other forms of Sadie Hawkin's Day attire will fill the Dog- patch-transformed Gym.
