if It is eminently desirable that information be given out before the forthcoming Annual Conference of the Lutheran Free Church with regard to
what steps have been taken in the question of selecting a new president of
Augsburg College and Theological Seminary to succeed the late Dr. George
The Board of Trustees took action in this important matter at its meeting
March 9-10. After a careful canvass of the situation and of the qualifications
required in a person to be so chosen, and after prayerful dedication of itself
to the guidance of God's Spirit, the Board decided by unanimous vote to nominate Dr. B. M. Christensen, Professor of Theology in Augsburg Seminary, as
its candidate for the position.
This action was also in full harmony with the results of a ballot cast by the
members of the Augsburg Corporation which had met previously.
This nomination will be submitted by the Board of Trustees to the Annual
Conference for endorsement, after which election takes place by the Board at
a subsequent meeting of the same. ntlnued on last page)

To be present at the Annual Alumni Banquet at the Augsburg Dining
Hall Thursday evening, June 2, at 6 o'clock. One of the college's largest
graduating classes will at that dinner be inducted into the Alumni Association. A special ceremony has been arranged for the occasion.
All grads are to meet, no later than six o'clock, on the Augsburg green
near the excavation for Memorial Hall. To that spot the graduating
class, in cap and gown, will march from the "Main" and there be joined
by the alumni, after which the procession will continue to the Dining
The Alumni Association's president, Rev. C. J. Carlsen, promises to
make this a snappy dinner, one which will under no circumstances continue later than 8:30 o'clock.
Put in your reservation at once, either by "postal" or telephone call.
Charges are sixty-five cents per plate. This may be the last alumni
dinner in the old Dining Hall! You won't want to miss it!
